Business Details
We are Cover Notes, a specialist insurance provider dedicated exclusively to the UK music trade, operating as a trading name of Howden UK Brokers Limited, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Our team has cultivated over 30 years of collective commercial insurance experience, with specific expertise in music trade cover dating back to our founding in 1998. We specialise in designing tailored insurance policies for every segment of the music industry, including retailers, wholesalers, manufacturers, piano tuners, teaching schools, repair workshops and allied trade operators. Our problem-solving approach centres on understanding the unique risk profiles of each individual music business, rather than offering generic, one-size-fits-all policies. We maintain rigorous professional standards, adhering to all Financial Conduct Authority regulations and industry best practice to deliver fully compliant, reliable cover. Our specialist policies include tailored features such as reduced standard policy excess for members of the Music Industries Association (MIA) or Clarity (formerly BADA), lowering to 100 at time of loss for eligible clients, compared to the standard 200 excess for buildings and contents cover.
We collaborate closely with industry bodies including the MIA and reputable UK insurers to ensure our policies offer the reassurance and protection music trade operators deserve. Our commitment to client satisfaction means we invest time in listening to each clients specific needs, to score and adjust policies to align perfectly with their individual business requirements. We prioritise transparent, straightforward communication, ensuring all clients fully understand the terms, coverage and limitations of their policy at all times. As part of the Howden UK Brokers Limited group, we combine the resources and expertise of a large, established insurance broker with the personalised, specialist focus of a niche music trade provider.

A beautiful coffee shop in a an amazing building. There are not many visible signs but it is located near Richmond hill center for performing arts. I had a piece of banana loaf which was delicious and there are art works on the walls that make the place beautiful and you can buy them if you like. Also there are books to read if you like to spend some quiet time reading. Went there again and they have live music on Saturday at 12:00. Had a salad and chocolate mousse cake which was not that great. And for some reason the lady who took our order was not friendly!

Amazing place. Great atmosphere. Really cool idea to have books in the coffee place. You can take one and browse through it as you enjoy great Flat White: Sandwiches and scones are fantastic. Pastries also not too bad. Loved their playlist on the background. It felt old school and quite diverse. Hats off to the barista es well. One of the few places where they still try to make beautiful coffee! It became our go to place

Covernotes has a beautiful, cozy atmosphere that I can't get enough of. There's a selection of classic and contemporary art on the walls that are changed every couple of weeks. Tons of books on the shelves. They have a huge selection of teas. I had the Ontario Ice Wine and loved how I could taste every fruit/spice that was in the mix. I also tried their chicken club sandwich, with everything cooked to perfection. I highly recommend this place.

A cute little cafe with drinks, food and baked goods. There are books everywhere as well as seating inside and out on the patio, if you want to study (they have wifi and some outlets) or read or chat for a bit. They had some fall seasonal drinks which I enjoyed. They do have a 1.5 hour seating limit which gets enforced when it gets crowded, typically around lunch time.

Their avocado toast is just amazing. Don't forget to add eggs and bacon on the toast. I like how the shop owner decorates the shop, it feels cozy and very relaxing.
