Although this figure is an average for all pets, whether you own a cat, dog or horse the cost of vet treatment can vary significantly, from a few hundred pounds for a one-off injury through to thousands for an ongoing condition. As vet treatment becomes more sophisticated the cost of treatment rises. If your pet has an accident, injury or illness and requires veterinary care, you can then claim back the cost of treatment covered by your policy - minus any excess.

Accident Only dog insurance

If your dog has an accident, the policy offers 2,500 per year towards the cost of treating their injuries resulting from that accident. The 2,500 limit applies to each accident your dog might have, and there's no limit to the number of accidents you can claim for. So even if your dog is particularly accident prone, your policy should still protect them.
Time Limited dog insurance

Covers vet fees for accidents, illnesses and conditions for a limited period of time only. Our Time Limited policies cover each new condition for 12 months from the date your dog first shows any signs or symptoms - as long as you renew your policy. Once you reach your limit - or after 12 months, whichever comes first - you will not be able to claim for that condition again but you may be able to claim for other conditions.
