Brought travel insurance with this company. Needed to change pre existing conditions long before the actual trip so called the customer service number. They never answered the phone. I called more than once and got nothing but a message that I was in the queue....my position in the queue never changed even after an hour on the phone. The chat service never worked and they do not respond to emails. I have now cancelled the policy within the 14 day period three times with no response. Their site says it takes 30 days to provide a full refund, but they should at least acknowledge the cancellation.

It was really easy for me as i used this company around 6 months ago for my cruise insurance. The template was there so all i had to do was update the info which took around 10 mins and the price was really reasonable. So easy to do, i will certainly use them again.

Quick, easy & competitive
It was quick and easy to get the insurance quote and the level we needed. It was clear how to add the cruise insurance and the medical declarations were easy to navigate for each passenger. Very competitive pricing. Would definitely use again.

Easy process to buy travel insurance for >65s with minimal health problems but…registering with the portal was convoluted. Fortunately the docs were sent via email anyway but it took me a while to find the “essential numbers” that I’ll need to take with me. Please rearrange documentation so that these are the most prominent items, not tucked away on later pages.

Great prices for travellers with existing medical conditions
I was trying to get travel
Insurance for a trip to the Caribbean 9 months after I’d had a heart attack. Compared to some other providers, Select & Protect made the whole process simple, straightforward and quick to arrange. I was expecting a high premium due to my existing heart condition but their quote was 85% cheaper than the highest quote I received. I’d give them 5 stars, but I haven’t had to claim on the policy and how they’d act then is very important when rating their overall service. Having said that I’d go to them first next time I needed travel insurance.

The girl that I spoke to on the telephone was very thorough and went through the questions very professionally and explained the policy with full details very well. She offered me time to think about the quote, which we declined as we were very happy and wanted to proceed there and then.

This Company - Do not answer the phone Do not answer the Chat online They avoid all contact with customers once you have purchased the policy We will be leaving them ASAP Awful Customer Service - Not acceptable

If I could give zero stars I would. Avoid. I have held buildings and contents insurance with them continuously for 21 years, it was set up with my mortgage. They have raised premium levels every year, so have paid thousands!. I have never claimed for anything. I recently (feb 21) tried to make a small claim for water damage from old pipework that had leaked.

A surveyor came out and declined (their own surveyor to protect their interest) What is home buildings and contents insurance for? S&P love taking your money every month. Yes its one of those things that I should check and compare regularly - how many other people let this slide and do the same? I started their complaints procedure in Feb this year, its now with the Ombudsman, all I am told that it is being looked at (now October!) Since all this, I have found the same buildings and contents insurance on a comparison website for less than a third of the price. S & P advise me that I must keep up my premiums whilst the complaint procedure is dealt with.

Also worrying is if you search the company, it leads to believe that it is not trading which is quite alarming given that lots of people will be paying a monthly premium. Diabolical on all aspects, communication, response, customer service, value for money and honoring a policy/claim. Total Rubbish.
